Realism tattoos in Delhi
A realism tattoo recreates a face, an animal or an object so closely that it reads like a photograph on skin. Jaivik Tattoo makes realism pieces in black and grey from the studio in Palika Bazar, Connaught Place.

What is a realism tattoo?
Realism is built from smooth tonal shading with very few hard outlines. The artist works from a reference photograph and creates depth through gradual shifts from light to dark. That makes the reference photo and the planning before the needle as important as the tattooing itself.
Designs that suit it
- Portraits of parents, children, partners and friends
- Pets, including dogs and cats
- Wild animals such as the lynx shown here
- Flowers, watches, eyes and other objects with fine texture
- Deities and religious figures that need a lifelike face
What to bring
Bring the sharpest, best-lit photo you have, with the subject filling the frame. For a face, choose a straight or slightly angled shot where the eyes are clear. Tell us where on the body you want it, because the placement sets the size, and the size sets how much detail can hold. Very small realism loses detail, and your artist will tell you the smallest size that keeps it readable.

Healing and aftercare
Realism depends on contrast. Keep the healed tattoo out of strong sun and use sunscreen on it, so the darks stay dark and the shading stays smooth.

Questions people ask
What photo should I bring for a realism tattoo?
A sharp, well-lit photo where the subject fills the frame. Send it on WhatsApp before you visit so the detail can be checked in advance.
Can realism be done small?
Small pieces lose fine detail sooner as the skin ages. Your artist will suggest a size that keeps the eyes, texture and shading clear.
Does a realism tattoo take more than one session?
Large or highly detailed pieces are often split across more than one sitting. The plan is set at the consultation, once the reference and placement are seen.
